Native to the humid forests of Southeast Asia, the Lipstick Plant gets its name from the vivid red flowers that peek out of deep maroon tubes, like lipstick being twisted from its case. It trails naturally, spilling elegantly from hanging pots or high shelves, bringing colour and texture to spaces that need a little lift. The glossy leaves and trailing stems give it a clean, sculptural quality.. playful but still polished

A few house rules...

Lipstick Plants love bright, indirect light. They grow in the upper canopies of tropical forests, where they get plenty of brightness without direct sun. A spot near a window works well, enough light to encourage flowering, but out of reach of harsh rays.

Water when the top layer of soil feels dry. They prefer light, regular watering rather than being soaked and left wet. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows. A touch of humidity helps keep the leaves glossy, so mist occasionally or keep nearby plants clustered together

• In the wild, Lipstick Plants grow as epiphytes they cling to trees for support rather than rooting in soil, which is why they love good airflow and light
