English Ivy is classic for a reason. Its trailing vines and delicate leaves bring quiet structure and movement to a space, softening hard edges and filling empty shelves or hanging pots with texture. Native to woodlands and walls across Europe, it’s easy to grow indoors and adapts well to a variety of light levels. It looks especially good cascading from tall planters or climbing a support for a more sculptural look.

A few house rules...

Light

English Ivy thrives in bright, indirect light but will also tolerate medium light. Variegated forms prefer brighter conditions to keep their colour sharp, while deep green varieties manage well in shadier spots. Avoid harsh sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Watering

Keep the soil lightly moist, watering when the top layer starts to dry. Ivy prefers consistency, not soaked, not parched. Reduce watering in winter and make sure the pot drains freely. It enjoys slightly cooler rooms and regular misting to stay fresh.
