Nepenthes looks like it belongs somewhere far more exotic than your living room. Long green leaves spill over the sides of the pot, each producing a hanging pitcher in shades of green, pink, red and burgundy. Those pitchers are actually clever little traps, designed to attract and digest insects.

It’s a brilliant plant for hanging somewhere you can properly see the pitchers, especially in a bathroom or bright kitchen where it can enjoy the extra humidity. Given the right conditions, it will keep producing new pitchers as it grows, with each one developing its own colour and markings.

It likes a little more attention than your average houseplant, but if you can give it warmth, humidity and plenty of light, it’s well worth it.

A few house rules...

Light

Lots of bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning or evening sun is fine
Watering

Keep the compost consistently moist and never allow it to completely dry out. Nepenthes are sensitive to minerals in tap water, so rainwater, distilled or filtered water is best.

- Humidity
Loves humidity. Bathrooms and bright kitchens are particularly good spots. Higher humidity will also help it produce healthy pitchers.

Delivery is £5.99 and free on orders over £70.

Returns

We stand by our plants. If your plant arrives damaged, let us know within twenty four hours with a photo and we will sort a replacement or refund.
