With its glossy, heart-shaped leaves and bold red blooms, Anthurium adds an instant hit of colour and polish to a room. Each flower can last for weeks, and new ones appear throughout the year with good care. It has a naturally architectural look, making it just as striking on a console or dining table as it is in a bright corner.

A few house rules...

Light

Anthurium loves bright, indirect light. Too much sun can scorch its glossy leaves, while too little will slow down its flowering. Near a bright window with filtered light is ideal..enough to keep its red blooms coming without the heat of direct rays.
Watering

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Anthuriums enjoy lightly moist soil but never soggy roots. Mist occasionally or keep near other plants for extra humidity, they’re native to tropical forests and like the air a little steamy.

• Typically reaches 40–60 cm tall
• Not safe for pets
• Fun fact: The bright coral “flower” is actually a waxy leaf called a spathe! The true flowers are the tiny bumps along the yellow spike in the centre.
