Also known as the Rattlesnake Plant, Calathea Lancifolia is pure personality. Admired for its long, wavy leaves green leaves are painted with darker spots on top and a rich purple underneath. Their leaves move up at night and back down in the day like they have their own rhythm. This plant feels more like a living artwork than a background plant.

A few house rules...

Light

Calatheas love gentle, indirect light. Too much sun will bleach out their pattern, so think dappled light or a bright room where the sun doesn’t hit them directly. They can also be a good option for shadier corners that still get some ambient brightness.
Watering

Keep the soil lightly moist, never bone-dry
• Use filtered or rainwater if possible, they can be fussy with tap water
• Mist occasionally or place near a humidifier
• Cut back slightly in winter when growth slows
